Fun fact: Every year we used to come down the shore for the 4th of July and sit in this big open field on the bay and watch the fireworks. Now, we’re lucky if we even catch the fireworks. Anyway, this year my boyfriend and I are most likely keeping it low key with some dinner and fireworks on the boardwalk. Regardless of your plans, you definitely need to know what to wear for the 4th of July without looking tacky, and I’m here to help.
I absolutely fell in LOVE with this shirtdress and had all intentions of wearing it as a beach cover-up, but I am so lazy that the idea of buttons on the beach is a total turnoff so I opt for strapless, slip on dresses. I ended up using this shirtdress for what to wear for the 4th of July instead.
♥ NO stars AND stripes, pick one or the other
♥ Stick to a faded or muted color palette (aka denim hues, whites, pop of saturated red)
♥ DON’T mix red, white, & blue, pick one or two colors for your outfit
♥ NO overly patriotic articles of clothing (leave the shirt with the big star on it for your little sister, you can also retire those American flag denim shorts)
What are your plans this 4th of July?!
xx
