NYFW is all the rage right now because, well, it’s happening. Yes, I was invited to some events and I may or may not attend due to reason I may or may not share with you later. That’s a lot of uncertainty I know, sorry!
I was not invited to any actual fashion shows, though, and I’m actually ok with it because with my full-time job I think I’d be more disappointed if I was invited and couldn’t attend because of work obligations.
I’ve found from my own NYFW experience last season, that NYFW is very interesting. The micro-bloggers (1,000-9,000 followers) that go to every show, go through a hell of a process to get there. They reach out to a bunch of PR companies expressing their interest in attending and telling what they could bring to the table. I respect the bloggers that take the time to do it!
Personally, I have other priorities that need my attention right now, rather than reaching out to a ton of PR companies. If brands want me at their shows/events, great! If not, I’m not going to sweat it.
This is a good way to look at NYFW so you don’t get FOMO, remember what you’re working towards and if it’s a job in the fashion industry then you absolutely should be trying to go to NYFW, if it’s not, don’t worry about it. Worry about what you are working towards. Fashion week isn’t for everyone, and that’s ok.
Anyways here are the outfits I would wear if I was going to New York Fashion Week, all on a budget of course…

09/12/2016 at 9:44 pmLove your picks, especially the heels! I can’t handle stilettos so I’m really loving this mid-heel trend. Every time I’ve been to NYFW was for work and I had to wear all black. It was really annoying seeing all the guests arrive in their amazing outfits while I had to keep it simple. This year, I also did a list of “imaginary” outfits I’d wear if I attended the shows. Honestly, I had so much fun just putting the outfits together (it ALMOST made up for the fact that I’m not in NY right now 🙂 ). I think I would go with the 3rd option cause I really love wearing whites and nudes plus I already have the Chloe Faye in this very colour haha! 🙂 And these heels are beyond amazing! Like Kostancja and you, I make my imaginary fashion weeks outfit every year on Polyvore and hope they will be handy one day that I will be lucky enough to attend some great shows!
