Over the years I’ve learned little fashion secrets, (which I will definitely continue sharing with you on here), and dos and don’ts of timeless style. As I grow, my style grows with me and I’m really excited to see how it evolves. With that said here are the 3 most essential pieces that complete a look:
A killer coat
I went to Barney’s this past winter with my beautiful soul sister, Tinamarie. Tina is a highly experienced and sought after fashion supermodel, (yes I’m bragging). Anyway, as we were browsing the racks of insanely gorgeous clothing that all girls dream about, she turns to me and says: “You know what’s underrated…? Outwear. More people should invest in good outerwear.”
That really resonated with me; first because she works with top designers and knows what she’s talking about. Second, in the winter, spring, and fall the first thing people see is your coat! Needless to say after that day I invested all of my paychecks into killer coats.
Amazing shoes
Anyone who knows anything about fashion will tell you: it’s all about the shoes. Unfortunately, people are going to judge you from head to toe, might as well make the toe worth their while.
The great thing about fashion today is pretty much anything goes. The days of matchy matchy are for the birds. You can pretty much throw on any mismatching outfit and it’ll look great. BUT how you can really knock it out of the park is with some amazing shoes. Shoes complete the look hands down. If you’re feeling Plain Jane, keep it simple with a subtle shoe. If you’re feeling Fancy Nancy add some fun shoes for a pop.
Gorgeous bag
I believe it was Kanye who said a woman’s shoes and her bag should always match, and with or without Kanye I’ve always lived by that. It just pulls the whole look together. As long as the bag is complimentary to your outfit’s color palette, you’re good to go.
