If you know me you know I eat, sleep, live, and breathe for Paris! I should have been born Parisian with natural brown hair, striped shirt, and naked fingernails. I take my affinity for Parisians very seriously… clearly. Anyway, I am thrilled to introduce our first French Style File Friday guest, Parisian blogger Kristi of La Georgienne. Kristi’s story is interesting in that her love for fashion organically grew from a photo diary to an Instagram following of over 14K followers.
Q: How/why did you get into blogging?
I always liked the fashion world and always wanted to have a blog. One day, after graduating with a degree in Marketing and Communication of Fashion and Luxury, I thought it was a good idea to start writing and showing people what I like, what I wear, and be able to apply my fashion “knowledge” to everyday life.
Q: How do you stay relevant to your readers?
I’m still not a professional blogger. I’m just being very honest with my followers about my life and my style, and I think they like me for that reason. Authenticity is key.
Q: How do you set yourself apart in a market that can be perceived as saturated?
As I’ve said, I am authentically myself. This means a lot to the blogging world. Also, I think my high quality pictures stand out, too. I work with a professional photographer, and I know the importance of high resolution when it comes to the visual content. Plus I’m living in Paris, which is always a best seller city in the fashion world.

Q: What has been your biggest mistake regarding your work?
Not writing enough on the blog . To achieve a goal you have to invest a lot of time, which I did not do during the first year.
Q: How is Parisian blogging different from American?
I think the biggest difference is that the city is a very important element of our posts. We always show the best side of Paris and Paris is always present in our posts. Besides, almost all the fashion bloggers in Paris know each other and support each other. I think that’s difficult to do in the U.S. as it’s a very big country.
Q: Where do you see blogging headed in the future?
Blogging is something we just started several years ago. This profession has a big future. It allows you to do what you’re really passionate about and to be creative, which is always important. We are only efficient at work if we like what we’re working on.
What are your style or blogging questions for Kristi of La Georgienne?
