If you follow me on Facebook, in addition to my “How to” and “What to Wear” series, I wanted to do yet another series that highlights my favorite bloggers and their different styles, enter “Style File Friday”. After all, when you’re traveling the last thing you want to do is look/act like a tourist. Our first feature is from Erica of FashionLush in San Diego, CA. Erica is such a doll baby and I’m so thrilled she was able to do this.

Q: Describe your city’s style using only one word.

One word, so hard! I would go with “laid-back” since I live in a beach town, which pretty much means I typically stick out like a sore thumb.

Q: What makes your city’s style different from other cities?

It’s warm here pretty much 80% of the year, so that certainly makes the way people dress different from other parts of the world w/ seasons. Not complaining, but I would love if we had a winter… solely for the sake of fashion. You can only wear so many tank tops/shorts/sun dresses.

The style in San Diego, for the most part, is very “boho” chic, so you also don’t see a ton of high fashion. Myself on the other hand, I sometimes go boho, but typically I am more minimalistic w/ my style (typically not fitting in w/ the “vibe” of the locals).

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in your city & what do you order?

If I had to pick just one, I love this restaurant called “The Yellow Deli“. It’s run by a commune referred to as the “Twelve Tribes” & all the food is locally grown, organic, & so delicious. They hand make there gluten free bread, so I just love the fact I can have a delicious sandwich with bread that actually tastes like bread (the gluten free stuff sucks!)

The restaurant itself was built my the commune & all the employees live on the commune, it’s a really wonderful & cool experience!

Q: What does a typical Friday or Saturday night out for you look like?

I work a lot, so I am always happy to spend my Friday night just relaxing at home, making dinner, drinking wine, & watching a good movie.

When we do go out, I love going down to my boyfriend’s neighborhood, North Park. We typically go to dinner at a restaurant we haven’t tried & get chili chocolate gelato for dessert at Chocolat. Later, if we still have energy ( lol! ), we will grab some drinks at a cute little dive bar that plays classic rock on a juke box.

P.S. if you are in North Park I highly recommend going to Pigment & DIY-ing your own succulent terrarium. It’s so fun, & the store is also really cute.

Q: What is your closet staple must-have?

Currently, loving all my jeans with rips in the knees. Mainly the ASOS Ridley or the Topshop Jamie- they instantly make even a worn in t-shirt look rad!

Q: What’s your favorite store?

To be honest, I typically do most of my shopping online BUT I am a sucker for vintage & that has to be done in store.

My two favorite vintage spots to hit up in San Diego are La Loupe Vintage, which is a quaint little hole in the wall w/ the best finds & Captain’s Helm, which is an insanely rad shop w/ everything from vintage rock tees to handmade one-of-a-kind jewelry.

Erica’s super sweet and has great style. You can follow her adventures via Insta, Facebook, and Twitter.
