Sacrifice: can’t live with it, can’t live without it. It’s one of those things that comes with the territory of success.
If you follow me on Snapchat (un: notanothrblonde) you got to hear my “biz wiz” advice about dealing with the sacrifices of success. When you sacrifice nothing, you gain nothing. And who wants that? If you want to overcome the sacrifices of success you’ll need to do 3 things…
know it’s temporary
Nothing is permanent, not even the sacrifices that seem like they’ll never end. Just because you have to give up one Saturday night out, doesn’t mean you have to give up all your Saturday nights. Sacrifice is a temporary fix while you look for a permanent solution.
If your friends are true friends they’ll understand how much your goals mean to you and they’ll support you. All success comes at a cost and you have to be willing to give up a few things for that to happen.
learn to counterbalance
I first learned of counterbalance in The ONE Thing and has since changed my life. Counterbalancing is when you put the area of your life that is suffering first.
Do you have to get that newsletter out by Tuesday? Maybe you should skip Happy Hour on Monday.
Is your exercise routine falling apart? Skip commenting on Instagram tonight so you can wake up early and work out.
There’s no such thing as “balancing it all”, it’s impossible. But counterbalance is possible and it’s something you should know how to do if you’re on the path to success.
You never want your life to go out of whack because once one area starts to go, the rest usually follow. And the best way to avoid this is through counterbalancing.
stay focussed on the reward
When you’re constantly turning down cool things to do for less exciting things like promoting your content, editing pictures, and analyzing your website stats, it’s hard to see the big picture. There will be times you feel like you’re working so hard for nothing and you’ll want to give up.
Don’t let the bumps in the road slow you down. Power through. The sooner you get done the boring stuff the sooner you can kick back and reap the reward. That’s why you started this journey and that’s why you’re going to finish it. Stay positive and keep your eye on the prize.

I assure you you’re probably doing some things wrong too (that’s part of the journey, ha!) but blogging is also a crap load of work so that is totally normal. Feel free to email me if you have any questions brittany@notanotherblonde.com! xx
