Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2018 Edition

If your mom is anything like my mom, then she’s the best mom in the world. And if you’re anything like me, you always try to outdo yourself with gifts on Mother’s Day from the year before. And if your mom is really like my mom she’ll say, “Don’t get me ANYTHING! Save your money. I don’t want anything. Your love is enough of a gift.” and mean it.

You know how some people are like “please don’t get me anything” but they secretly want, like, the world? Yeah my mom’s not like that.

When she says don’t get her anything, you really can’t get her anything. I usually end up taking back anything I do get for her because it’s “too much” when really it’s never enough. Am I making sense?

Bottom line is: I love my mom and I want her to have the best Mother’s Day ever. And yes I know I’m a little late but let’s be real, I think more of us procrastinate than don’t.

So these are the gifts I may or may not have gotten my mom for Mother’s Day.

1 | My mom is O B S E S S E D with the La Mer face moisturizer, in fact, everyone is. It’s one of the most Instagrammable Mother’s Day gifts you can get, plus it’s just an overall quality product with a pretty price tag to match. For skincare… it’s worth it!

2 | I always call my mom a little sex kitten, I don’t know, it’s just a thing. Perhaps it’s because she’s my mom and still wearing sky high heels or buying indie brand bags I’ve never heard of (we’ll get to that in #5). Either way, she’s trendy AF and needs some cute shoes to match. How good are these Sam Edelman pumps for spring anyway? (P.s. they’re on sale right now too!)

3 | Though my mom has never asked for luggage, I feel like it’s necessary since she’s been rocking a ripped mauve suitcase since the 90’s. This Calpak is like a huge upgrade. I’m so happy someone started to make chic luggage, I might have to get one myself.

4 | I first learned of Laura Mercier when I was in my early twenties and working as a teacher. Another teacher always smelled SO good so I asked her what she wore and she said Laura Mercier lotion, that’s it! Just lotion?! No way! Yep. Just lotion. This stuff is so delicious you can dab a little on your pressure points and call it a day.

5 | Ok back to the indie brand bags. This bag isn’t technically “indie” but Volon is a foreign brand that somehow my mom discovered before I did and now we’re both in love. They’re the cutest most unique bags I’ve ever seen. You won’t find any knockoffs of these babies. I hope I, I mean, my mom can get her hands on one soon!

6 |  Gucci Bloom, Gucci Bloom, Gucci Bloom. You would think this was an overpowering floral small but it’s not, at all! I hate floral scents and this is just the right amount of floral and feminine mixed with fresh. I honestly can’t describe it other to say it’s incredible and my mom and I are both hooked. I feel like this Mother’s Day gift guide is more for me than her?

7 | Guys, this robe! So I have 2 Barefoot Dreams’ blankets and my mom has 1 blanket and a robe and we are IN LOVE. It’s the softest, most juicy, most snuggly robe ever. Literally anything you get from Barefoot Dreams will be, well, a dream. This brand did it right.
