How to | Wear Culottes

I feel like culottes are just a fancy name for gaucho pants, but I’m not going to argue because I think they’re awesome and can make anyone look stylish. If you want to be a true fashionista this summer, learn how to wear culottes and you will #slay, seriously, they’re so flattering! I find this particular outfit to be great for the office. It’s effortless and totally comfortable which is always a plus. Between the culottes and the silk shirt I feel like I’m in pjs aka best feeling ever.

Oh yeah… we got a puppy, we as in my mom and stepdad. He’s the cutest little thing ever. There’s a very good chance he’s the devil in disguise… acts all cute and cuddly then BAM teeth right into your face/hands/feet/shoes/socks/shorts. His name’s Brody and I really hope this biting phase passes, I’ve already lost my favorite pair of slippers. RIP. The good news is he’s a rescue puppy and we’re not really sure of his exact breed, definitely collie-shepherd mix of some sort.

Now onto how to wear culottes: the baggier the better in my opinion. I went with this amazing oversized, striped top from Forever21 for that loose, comfy, effortless feel. Like I said before this is more office wear than anything else, but you could definitely rock this for a dinner date, too. If you were to dress culottes up a bit more you could add a heel and crop top with a fitted blazer or something to that effect. I have been obsessing over these shoes for the longest time!!!! I just wore them out recently here.

Some of you may be thinking, ‘I can’t wear culottes I’d look so frumpy!’ Wrong! Culottes synch at the waist, outlining your figure which gives you shape even if you don’t have one. I half-tucked my shirt to emphasize this effect. Of course if I untucked the shirt yes, I’d have that frumpy feel but that wasn’t the look I was going for, in fact, that should never be the look you’re going for.
