I always dread seeing bloggers’ Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales blog posts. I literally cringe because it’s all the same. I see the same sales by the same people with the same items and the same “swipe ups”. So I thought, how can I switch it up this year?
Enter: the Blogger’s Guide to Cyber Monday Sales. If you know me you know I live for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I am a bargain shopper through and through and I will literally wait an entire year before buying something so I can get it on Cyber Monday. Extreme? Maybe. Effective? Extremely. The whole “wait ’til Cyber Monday” technique doesn’t always work on seasonal stuff like bathing suits but for things like electronics and stuff for your home, you just hit the jackpot. For example, I got a killer deal on a Dyson vacuum (oh, the perks of adulthood) and a Canon EOS m5 last year.
So now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are one-in-the-same and like, a week long it helps spread things out and lets you organize your gift ideas (or things you want for yourself) so you’re not completely overwhelmed and just buying to buy.
In all my years of holiday shopping my theory is that Cyber Monday deals are the best because it’s the last day of the really big sales so brands want you to continue to spend money so they aim to go out with a bang for a final surge in purchases. Black Friday is like the teaser and Cyber Monday is when brands basically give things away.
Below are my top picks, some things I already own, others I’ve been stalking for a while so don’t be surprised if you see them on an unboxing on Instagram…

cyber monday 2018 tips & tricks
+ think outside of the box – do you need stuff for the house like a vacuum, rug, furniture, air purifier?
+ have a list ready of what you want to get and for who you want to give it to (this will prevent you from making impulsive purchases)
+ what electronics do you need – iPhone, TV, camera, laptop?
+ think about getting a membership – gym, subscription service, meal plan, etc. (Melissa Wood Health is offering 30% off her annual membership program)
+ if you already bought something and it went on sale, buy it again for the sale price and return the full-priced item (just make sure you adhere to the return policy)
+ apply “honey” to your web browser so you can have additional coupons automatically applied to Cyber Monday sales
+ add swipe ups on IG Stories using affiliate links for everything (people are in the shopping mode so this will help increase your conversion rate)
+ compare prices on big ticket items you’ve always wanted (luxury handbag, Stuart Weitzman boots, expensive perfume, outerwear, etc.)
+ buy in bulk (Bath & Body Works is the best for this, I stock up on candles, soaps, hand lotions, etc.)
