8 Wardrobe Essentials You Need for 2017

I’d be lying if I said there was a major shift in style for 2017. In fact, I’m not even qualified enough to say if there will or won’t be. But what I am qualified enough to say is that from what I’ve seen, what I’ve experienced in my shopping addiction, is that style evolution takes some time. You don’t wake up one day and a new trend has emerged. And since trend forecasting is such a gamble, here are some essentials I’ve picked for 2017.  

1 | Grey jeans have been a staple of mine through 2016 and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Bloggers, celebrities, and fashion designers alike are wearing grey jeans of all shades and sizes. Grey jeans are a definite must-try of 2017.

2 | Let me start by saying that I hate the color pink, like hate it! I’ve tried to like it and always come out hating it even more. But this jacket, as pink as it is, is absolutely stunning. 2017 is the year of the colorful faux fur. And right now, this pink beauty is ON SALE for more than 50%.

3 | Black chokers, gold chokers, diamond chokers, velvet chokers… 2017 is all about the choker. Again, nothing new or groundbreaking

4 | I love the woman who came up with velvet culottes. I know it was a woman because, come on, no man could come up with something fashionable AND comfortable. Kidding.

Anyway, I know I said I hate pink but I don’t consider these culottes pink, pink, I think they’re more a mauve and I am so in love and can’t wait to kick ass in them in 2017.

5 | Frills, twills, ribbons, it’s all happening in 2017. I especially loved this grey sweatshirt from Topshop.

6 | I have these shoes in grey but I am obsessed with the cranberry velvet version. Velvet is HUGE now and that will continue in 2017.

7 | Fishnets are a blast from the past… circa late 90’s early 2000’s. I can’t say I’ve tried the fishnet trend and I can’t say I won’t try it either. I would pair fishnets under ripped jeans for a cool edge or with a mini skirt and over the knee boots.

8 | Mansur Gavriel seemed to have done a 180 over the last two years. One year they were in, then forgotten about, and now they’re back and I couldn’t be more pumped. Mansur is between Michael Kors and Louis Vuitton, so not quite as pricey as a Louis but not as affordable as Michael Kors. Bucket bags are so classic so if you can spare to splurge check out this bag, this bag, and this bag in 2017.
