7 Things You Need for the 4th of July

Ok so I exaggerated a little bit… you don’t NEED any of these things really, but you do, if you know what I’m saying. I use every holiday as an excuse to go shopping, as if it’s going to be like some huge ordeal which it never is, but I still shop like it is nonetheless.

So, if you’re like me and you’re going away for the 4th of July, you want to look good. You all of a sudden need things you never knew you needed before for a 3-day weekend like a swan floaty or a round beach towel. ::rolls eyes::

But seriously, these things will come in handy if you’re having a party or going to the beach which is why I’ve included them in our little roundup here.

1 | Solid & Striped bathing suit – This is quickly becoming one of my favorite bathing suit brands. The blue and white suit is an obvious choice for the 4th of July but it can also work after the 4th, which is great. It’s not tacky like a stars and stripes suit, it’s subtle yet still festive.

2 | H&M checkered top – I’ve been obsessing over blue stripes and checkers this summer. And I’m not mad about it because it works for all summer holidays like Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day aka you won’t buy this shirt and wear it once and be done with it.

3 | The Beach People beach towel – I’ve wanted a round beach towel for as long as I can remember. And now The Beach People makes the cutest ones that don’t look cheap and childish.

4 | Swan floaty – I always thought that because I didn’t have a pool meant I couldn’t have a swan floaty. Then I remembered when I go to the beach for the 4th of July there’s an ocean… in which I can float on my swan. Duh. Anyway, I just hope there’s a cup holder for my seltzer (I’m addicted to La Croix).

5 | Topshop white jeans – I have the Jamie jeans in just about every cut and color. But I absolutely love the white Jamie’s because they’re not see-through! Do you believe it?! It took me like 15 years to finally find a pair of white jeans that didn’t show your underwear. These would look super cute with the blue top (#2).

6 | BKR water bottle – BKR makes the best water bottles because they’re sturdy, chic, and eco-friendly. It doesn’t get much better. The whole craze over glass water bottles is because they are BPA free and glass is just better than plastic, period.

7 | Ray Ban aviators – I actually have these sunglasses and I always whip them out around the 4th of July because well they’re blue so why wouldn’t I?
